THE HOME OF BROCKET DEER HUNTING

MAZAMA CAMP

Hidden deep within the tropical rainforest of Nuevo Becal, Campeche, Mexico, Mazama Camp offers an authentic wilderness experience in one of Mexico's premier Brocket Deer hunting destinations. Wake each morning to the unmistakable calls of howler monkeys echoing through the jungle, while curious spider monkeys are often seen exploring the camp before hunters head into the rainforest in pursuit of the elusive Red and Gray Brocket Deer. This remarkable ecosystem is also home to Paca, Agouti, Coatimundi, Great Curassow, and a wide variety of native wildlife, making every day in camp an unforgettable experience.

Designed to provide comfort while preserving the authentic atmosphere of a remote jungle camp, Mazama Camp features traditional thatched-roof cabins with individual beds, mosquito netting, complete bathrooms with hot showers, Starlink Wi-Fi, and generator-powered electricity. Between morning and afternoon hunts, guests can relax in hammocks beneath the shade of towering tropical trees while listening to the sounds of the surrounding rainforest.

At the heart of the experience is the warm hospitality of our local team. Traditional regional dishes are prepared each day by the local ladies from the community, whose home-style cooking has become a favorite among our guests. Fresh tropical fruit, purified drinking water, soft drinks, snacks, and cold beer are always available, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and share the day's stories after returning from the jungle. Combined with the knowledge of our experienced local guides, Mazama Camp offers an authentic hunting experience that reflects the traditions, culture, and natural beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula.

LUXURY HUNTING SANCTUARY

KAXAN RANCH

Located near the historic town of Sotuta, Yucatán, just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Mérida International Airport, KAXAN Ranch redefines luxury hunting in Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. Designed for hunters who seek world-class accommodations without sacrificing exceptional hunting opportunities, KAXAN combines refined comfort, authentic Yucatán hospitality, and carefully managed wildlife habitats in one extraordinary destination.

Every detail of the lodge has been thoughtfully designed to provide an unforgettable experience. Spacious luxury suites feature queen-size beds, air conditioning, premium bathrooms, and every comfort expected by today's discerning traveler. Guests gather in the elegant dining room, relax in the game room with billiards and large-screen TVs, or enjoy cocktails at the fully equipped bar after a successful day in the field. Outside, the ranch's signature entertainment pavilion—known by many of our American guests simply as "The Gazebo"—offers the perfect place to unwind, complete with outdoor televisions, beverage refrigerators, a wood-fired pizza oven, premium BBQ grills, and comfortable seating areas. The outdoor terrace features a swimming pool with a wet bar, jacuzzi, fire pit, and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Guests can also relax in KAXAN's private natural cenote, one of the ranch's most unique attractions and a perfect way to cool off after a day of hunting.

Dining at KAXAN Ranch is an experience of its own. Our chef prepares everything from traditional Yucatán specialties to refined international cuisine, whether it's an authentic wood-fired pizza night, fresh local seafood, or an elegant steak dinner paired with fine wine. Every meal reflects the warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail that define the Peninsula Hunters experience.

Spanning more than 4,500 acres, KAXAN Ranch has been transformed into a true sanctuary for the native wildlife of the Yucatán Peninsula. Through intensive habitat management, we have established more than twelve strategically located food plots, developed multiple solar-powered wells that provide year-round water sources, and continue restoring former cattle pastures back into native forest through ongoing reforestation efforts. These conservation initiatives have created exceptional habitat for the Central American Whitetail Deer, Ocellated Turkey, Coati, Paca, doves, quail, and many other native species that thrive throughout the ranch.

KAXAN is also a working ranch where conservation and sustainable land stewardship go hand in hand. Habanero pepper fields, traditional beekeeping, and responsible land management are all part of our long-term commitment to preserving the natural heritage of the Yucatán Peninsula. Every hunt directly contributes to these conservation efforts, ensuring that future generations will continue to experience this extraordinary landscape.

Extending the Hunt, Expanding the Experience

TURKEY OUTPOST

During the peak Ocellated Turkey season, Peninsula Hunters offers access to additional hunting areas near the traditional Yucatán town of Tunkás. Rather than spending valuable hunting hours traveling back and forth each day, selected guests have the opportunity to stay overnight in our comfortable Turkey Outpost, located just minutes from some of our most productive turkey hunting grounds.

Simple, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, the Outpost provides everything needed for a restful evening, including comfortable accommodations, Wi-Fi, hot showers, air conditioning, and a welcoming atmosphere before returning to KAXAN Ranch to continue the full Peninsula Hunters experience.

For many guests, one of the highlights is spending an evening in the peaceful town of Tunkás. Walking through the central plaza, enjoying traditional Yucatán street food, meeting local families, and experiencing the rhythm of everyday life offers an authentic glimpse into rural Mexico that few visitors ever experience. It is a memorable contrast to the luxury of KAXAN Ranch and a reminder that the greatest hunting adventures are often about much more than the hunt itself.
