Deep within the vast jungles of the Yucatán Peninsula, generations of local hunters learned to read the forest in ways few outsiders could ever understand. Every track, sound, and movement carried meaning. Their knowledge was passed from father to son, shaped by a lifetime spent beneath the jungle canopy.
Peninsula Hunters was forged through years spent alongside these local hunters and guides, earning trust, sharing experiences, and learning from traditions deeply rooted in the region. Today, generations of traditional jungle knowledge are combined with modern wildlife management, conservation practices, and ethical hunting principles to create something truly unique.
The result is a hunting experience built upon relationships, local knowledge, and access to places, traditions, and hunting opportunities that few sportsmen will ever experience.
From the elusive Red and Gray Brocket Deer of the tropical forests to the vibrant Ocellated Turkey and the unique Central American Whitetail, Peninsula Hunters offers access to some of North America’s most distinctive hunting opportunities.

Pursuit the most difficult deer in North America! Achieve this award harvesting the 3 unique and elusive deer species of the Yucatan Peninsula jungle, featuring a bronze statue sculpted by a forthcoming Mexican artist.
I have been fortunate to have hunted with some outstanding Outfitters around the world over the last 60plus years. I place Peninsula Hunters among the top of the list. After 7 Arctic adventures on Dog sled, I did not imagine ever finding another hunt as unique of an experience …I was wrong. Hunting the jungles with Mario was every bit of a rare adventure. The camp far exceeded my expectation and I always felt safe and comfortable.
After three unsuccessful Red Brocket Deer hunts and nearly 150 hours in hammocks high in the trees, I finally had a successful hunt with Peninsula Hunters and Mario Camara. Their knowledge and flexibility in timing the hunt made the difference. I would hunt with them again and encourage anyone pursuing a Red Brocket Deer to do the same.
I’ve hunted the Mexican jungle unsuccessfully on a few separate occasions prior to hunting with PENINSULA HUNTERS. In less than 4 days’ time, I took a Tropical Whitetail and both Red and Gray Brocket Deer! Mario’s knowledge of the species, experienced guides, and extensive trail camera monitoring tilt the scales heavily in the hunter’s favor. I would look no further if I were looking to harvest any of these three elusive species.
World class Hunting
How can I ever thank you enough? I killed my Red Brocket Deer this year, qualifying me for my Rex Baker 40. Then, within just eight months, you guided me to a Top 10 Central American Whitetail and a Top 10 Pacific Coast Whitetail. That’s pretty remarkable, and I’m truly indebted to you.
I need to be at the very top of your reference list.
You can definitely walk the talk.
Eight years. Eight journeys into the jungle chasing the Red Brocket Deer. What began as a hunt became something much greater—a chapter of my life. After years of mistakes, hope, persistence, and returning to the jungle, the dream finally became reality. And when it happened, I was shoulder to shoulder with my brother, Mario Cámara of Península Hunters.
This hunt reminded me that we remain ancient creatures, deeply connected to the wild. I came away grateful for the hunt, the jungle, friendship, family, and above all, the journey itself.
I hunted the Red Brocket Deer with Peninsula Hunters, often described as North America’s most difficult trophy. Even myself, with over 50 years of whitetail experience, was in absolute awe and amazement over their ability to pick up on the slightest of sign left by these animals… the tracks, paths, browse, and patterns. I scored within 3 days!
Mario and his team at Peninsula Hunters have incredible knowledge of Brocket Deer. The hunt required patience, strategy, and mental toughness, but their experience and positivity never wavered. On day six, I was fortunate to take the Grey Brocket of a lifetime—another species toward my Rex Baker 40.
I look forward to returning for the Red Brocket!
